The '54 is not as bright and sharp as the Impersonator A56 or the Fat 50.

Outstanding sonic characteristics:  You can expect the practically identical sound of a real Fender 54 Strat* pickup.  Produces a very nice twang (slightly less aggressive than the other Impersonators), balanced midrange (not very scooped) and slightly less high note bloom than other Strat pickups.  Better dynamics than a real 54 Strat and more bounce from the E-6th low wound.  Reasonably authentic Position 2 & 4 Knopfler-esque ‘cluck’ sounds.  

Do you want the sound of Hank Marvin's 60's Shadows instrumental tunes?  It's also good for other musical genres (including Jazz) where a slightly smoother Strat* sound with less bite and presence than the Impersonator '56 and Impersonator Fat 50.
